Training period Chatenay-Malabry (France)

Development of a tensiometer

The main goal of this training period was to design a tensiometer to analyze drops of emulsion and determine their properties thanks to a camera. To do this, the electronics was to be able to :

  • inject a liquid into a solution thanks to a needle piloted by a stepper motor,
  • regulate the temperature thanks to a Peltier module,
  • control the lighting intensity over the emulsion,
  • communicate with a host computer via USB using a C8051F340 microcontroller from Silabs.
  • The tensiometer documentation (in french) summarizing my work can be found here
